I spent a couple days at Mackinaw Harvest Recording Studios in GR this week. This was my third recording session at MH and it is always a fabulous experience. With Michael Crittenden producing, we recorded five new (some new, some recent) songs. To start out Michael helped me narrow down a list of 20 songs to a manageable few. We tracked three piano songs and two guitar songs, each in a different musical style. When people ask me what style of music I write, my answer is “all over the place”. I played the piano and guitar parts to each song and did the vocals. Michael played bass and Troll For Trout drummer, Brian Morill laid down some very cool percussion. Michael is still working on the remaining guitar, organ and backing vocal tracks that will combine to make these fully produced songs. Some time in 2017, I plan to release these in digital form. I am considering a CD, but not sure if there any advantages to that form these days.
